My name is Brooklyn Wilson and I participate in Hall County's Honors Mentorship program which allows students to shadow a mentor of their choice. Alongside gaining an average of four hours in the student's field of choice, students are also required to complete weekly assignments. I chose to intern in the Emergency Room with an ER doctor. The doctor is a friend of my Dad and was gracious enough to allow me to shadow him. Throughout my journey, I have learned many medical terms as well as what it takes to be a doctor. I already see how this internship has given me a head start in my medical career.

Aside from interning at the ER, I enjoy playing my trumpet and pole vaulting on the track team. I always try to get just a little bit better and I know that if you aren't going to do something right and try your best, then it isn't worth doing. This has been my outlook on everything this year. I am a junior at North Hall High School and I am currently looking around for potential colleges to go to. Next year I will be dual enrolling at the University of North Georgia for half a day (2 classes a semester).

Overall I believe that this internship has given me a great opportunity to learn and grow. To participate in my particular internship, I have to be able to go whenever my mentor is working. Sometimes he is working on weekends, sometimes odd hours, and sometimes during the school day. Working my schedule around his has been difficult at times, but is always worth it. It is very interesting to be working at 1 or 2 in the morning and I believe that participating has allowed me to get an ideal of how many doctors' schedules are.

Anyways, please enjoy my website. I hope you may learn something from it.
